RECRUITING CONVERSATIONS · CLEAR EXPECTATIONS
“Join our remote team—we have great leads” sounds attractive. It leaves almost every important question unanswered.
What kind of leads? Who pays? When do they arrive? What does the agent need to do? If the answers change after onboarding, your recruiting pitch has created confusion instead of a clear opportunity.
A useful lead program belongs in your agent opportunity brief. Explain the actual arrangement before asking someone to build a business around it.
1. Name the deliverable
Describe whether an agent receives consumer contact records, inquiries, appointments or live transfers. These are different starting points. An appointment can be missed; a transferred conversation can end without a sale. Avoid using “qualified” as a substitute for the specific screening criteria.
For a live-transfer offer, explain what makes a call billable and what information accompanies the handoff. For a contact list, explain the record age and expected outreach work.
2. Make the cost visible
Tell recruits who purchases the leads and which expenses belong to the agent. Include required CRM, phone, platform or other fees when they apply. If access is conditional on a purchase or a particular program, state that condition.
“Leads provided” should not leave an agent guessing whether the agency funds them, resells them, offers an introduction or simply recommends a vendor. Use the provider’s current terms to describe the arrangement.
3. Explain access without promising unlimited supply
Put receiving hours, routing, available territories and allocation rules into a written plan. An agent working evenings should not assume transfers will arrive during those hours. A team should not infer unlimited inventory from a package description.
If availability changes, tell the affected agents before they reserve time or commit additional funds. Make clear who coordinates the schedule and what happens when someone is absent.
4. Separate support from a promise of production
Coaching, call review and an organized CRM can support the work. They do not remove the need for preparation, suitable product knowledge, professional conversations and follow-up.
Describe the support your agency actually provides. Avoid presenting another producer’s income or close rate as the outcome a new recruit should expect. A useful recruiting conversation helps the candidate understand both the opportunity and their responsibilities.
5. Give agents a clear route for questions
Separate agency questions from provider questions. Your manager can own training and scheduling. The enrollment or fulfillment provider should explain its billing, delivery criteria and replacement process. Agents need to know whom to contact for each issue.
A clearer way to discuss Mothership
If your remote team is evaluating Final Expense live transfers, a direct introduction could read:
“We are evaluating Mothership Final Expense live transfers as a source of consumer conversations. Review the current offer and provider terms at MothershipAccess.com. Before participating, we will confirm who pays, which agents can receive calls, the receiving schedule and our coaching process. Transfers do not guarantee applications or sales.”
This is sample language for an agency evaluating the offer. Adapt it to the arrangement you have actually confirmed; do not present a proposed program as an included benefit.
Mothership Access is the destination for current package details, pricing, CRM fees, availability and enrollment. Keep those changing details there rather than repeating an old promotion in recruiting materials.
Recruit to a plan an agent can understand
A strong pitch does not need to promise easy sales. It needs to explain the customer opportunity, the work required and the support available. Give candidates enough information to decide whether the model fits them—and give your managers a plan they can deliver.
Give your remote team a lead plan worth evaluating.

Enrollment and fulfillment are handled by the partner provider. We may earn a commission when you enroll through our affiliate link. Transfers do not guarantee sales, policy placement or income. Mortgage-protection early access is a separate program.
